A few days after graduating from elementary school, I received a message on my phone saying that I had scored a 3 out of 5.
I couldn’t believe it.
“The kindergarten graduation is coming up!” the sender said.
“You should definitely go and sing.”
As I sat there, listening to the song, I thought, This song is so simple that I would really enjoy the song.
But I wasn’t prepared for the excitement that followed.
A kindergarten song is a kind of musical exercise.
The lyrics are often written by the parents and/or teachers of a class.
When children sing in kindergarten, they may do so because they enjoy the sound, the harmony, the rhythm.
They may even sing it to their own friends to be more musical.
The song may also be a way to connect with the group of friends that you are in.
The songs may also help with the transition from the classroom to home life.
The children who sing are learning to sing as well.
They are learning how to express themselves with words, sounds and pictures, said Anupam Kaur, a teacher in Pune’s Nandlani Grammar School.
It’s a kind “music for the body and mind,” she said.
The children learn to be self-conscious in the process.
When you are learning a new language, you are always learning how others communicate with you.
The kindergarten song has the ability to make you feel more comfortable and at ease, said Kaur.
I am not surprised, she said, that the kindergarten songs that kids sing often have a lot of words.
I think this is how kids learn.
