An Oregon kindergartener who accidentally wrote her kindergarten teacher’s name on the whiteboard was sentenced Monday to two years in prison.
Prosecutors said Lillian M. Hagerty, 31, who lives in the Portland suburb of Bend, wrote the names of her kindergarten principal and other teachers on the classroom whiteboard last spring after an encounter with a teacher at her elementary school.
Prosecutors said she was upset and embarrassed by the situation, but that she didn’t realize she had violated the law.
Hagerty is a former student at Bend Middle School who was working at another elementary school at the time of the incident.
The case was dismissed after a district investigation.
Hagers family didn’t immediately return a message seeking comment Monday.
Hagerman’s attorney, Robert Breen, said in court that his client will be eligible for parole in 2021.
