When I first started working in kindergarten in 2010, I was assigned to the pre-kindergartens “Drawing Worksheets.”
It was a new concept to me.
I had no idea how to draw.
But I did a lot of drawing.
I also had no experience with color.
And as I grew, my parents gave me assignments to work on.
I would come home, work on the drawing assignments, and then my parents would ask, “Why are you doing that?
How are you going to use the color?”
And I would say, “I don’t know.
I don’t want to draw that.”
I would get yelled at.
“Why don’t you learn to draw like a kid?
Learn how to do it like a grownup.”
They’d say, You know what?
The kid in you that’s a real kid is going to be the one to do the work.
And I realized I was really struggling with my drawing.
I learned a lot.
I learned to be really patient.
I worked on the kids’ drawings, and the older kids were like, “Okay, we’re going to make sure you draw this way,” and I was like, Yeah.
And it was really satisfying.
I felt good, because I was learning something new and really understanding what it meant to draw and what I could do.
I think I was also working with a lot more color than I had previously thought.
I was able to see how I could change the color scheme.
But as I learned more and more, I realized that the way I was working with color was not good.
The way I did it was bad.
And in my opinion, I should not have been working on color.
I should have been drawing on paper and drawing on pencils.
And if I was doing that, I could draw more.
I didn’t have a lot to work with.
I’d been drawing with pencils and paintbrushes for years, and I didn’ t know what I was drawing with.
So when I first began working in preschool I felt like I was not drawing with the same amount of skill that I had before.
I realized the work I was giving was not what I needed to do to be successful in the classroom.
But it’s the same story with kindergarten.
It’s the only place I can be successful, so it’s where I really work.
But the lessons I learned about color are still relevant in kindergarten.
I have to understand that, for me, color is just something that is applied.
Color is just the way it is.
It doesn’t mean anything.
It is a tool, not something that you are supposed to use.
And you are not supposed to be using it.
But we all need to use it.
And so I’ve been thinking about this and I think a lot about it.
I am trying to be more patient.
It sounds like a lot, but I think the biggest thing I have learned is that I need to be able to have a really good understanding of what the problem is, what the solution is, and how I can make it better.
And also, it is not something you are going to just put in your notebook, and it doesn’t matter what color it is, it doesn’ t matter what it is called.
And that is what you need to do.
When I say that, the first thing I think is, I need the ability to be a better teacher.
And then I think about how I’m going to do that, and when I look back on what I’ve done, I see how much I learned.
So that is one thing that I have been trying to do, but also to be patient.
And to keep pushing on the learning, because it’s something that has to be done.
And we’re not going to get anywhere if we keep putting in the work, because we don’t get anything out of it.
I want to thank everyone who has supported me.
Thank you so much.
I really appreciate it.
You’ve really helped me with the work and I really hope I can bring you guys back.
I’m really grateful for you guys.
It really means a lot because I really am just trying to keep working hard, so that I can get the most out of the work that I do.
Thank all of you.
